Blog 20/ Stripping Away

      This has been such a different season! A season of God teaching me to rely on Him and trust Him in a deeper way than before. Painful, and stretching and so beautiful. Continuing SBS from Baker has been a wild ride-but He’s giving me (and all of us) the strength to do it!

       During this time He’s been asking me “What things do you find identity in?”

That for me can be a scary question. Trying to find the balance between loving people, pleasing people, giving and taking have been a struggle for me all my life. I so love the gifts He’s given me- like friendships and leadership positions, talents, passions etc. But if I didn’t have those things, would He be enough? 

“Would who I am be enough for you?”

       I’m learning, yes. Everyday trusting Him more. In eager expectation, I can say yes.

       He’s stripping away anything I’ve placed my identity in that’s not Himself; Beauty has been coming from it. Deeper understanding of who He is growing within me. He is the only one who satisfies. He is good. He’s a perfect father. He cares so deeply about the aches and desires of my heart.

  ——> The last few months my heart cry has been Psalm 51:10-12

“Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.”

       Clean my heart, align it with yours Jesus!

                     —And he’s been doing it!

       I believe that he’s preparing us all for something we can’t even fathom. Something groundbreaking to come. Our faithfulness in this season TOTALLY has the potential to propel us prepared for the next!

       My ‘free’ time lately has consisted writing music and growing my photography skills, and a lot of planning ahead. God is still leading me to go back to Montana and be part of DTS Staff in the fall! I’ve been praying and trusting that He will continually provide for this commitment He’s asking me to make! :)
